The aticle says it has "crumbling dirt around its edges resembling sharp teeth." This makes me wonder if perhaps it is a young sarlacc pit.

The Cover Fairy, Also Known as the Never Ending Saga

The fairy on the front of the calender was repeated inside of the calender, so, over the six calenders, Lori and I painted dresses on twelve of these fairies pictures (six each). The picture was actually a pretty nice fairy picture, except for the naked part. I can't say that I blame the fairies for going around virtually naked (most of them had on floaty fabric). It's really just part of being a fairy, I guess.

Here's my very first fairy. It's in the calender for my little cousin.

Here's Lori's first fairy (also for my cousin). She went for the flower dress effect.

Here's Lori's second fairy, also in the calender for my cousin.

Here's my second fairy.

Here's my third fairy (in calender # 2,which was for an adult).

My fourth fairy, also in calender # 2

Lori's third fairy, calender # 2. Lori went for daring with the polka dots.

Then Lori did this.

Detail.

Calender #3. This is the first time that I glittered up the word "Fairies." I hadn't realized that I went for the little black dress with luxuriant hair twice. I guess I sort of lost track of my fairies.

This was the last of the cover fairies I did. When I finished it, I felt a little sad.

Lori went for daring polka dots again for the cover of calender #3, but this time in red and blue.

Lori repeated her bug collector fairy. I believe she said that is was her favorite.

There will be more fairy pictures coming, my dear readers. Some days, I think that there will always and eternally be more fairy pictures, but then I realize that I am wrong.

Naked Fairies

A while ago, the Snack King managed to order a Random Bag of Crap. In it were six magical fairy calenders. We were overjoyed, but we had no idea what to do with them. It was an issue of great debate in my house. They could not be given to just anyone, for the fairies were nekkid, and thus not entirely suitable for everyone as is. It was finally decided that Lori and I would, somehow, draw little dresses on the fairies in two of the calenders, and give them to my five year old cousin. It was especially necessary that the fairies have clothes on them due to the fact that my cousin has a couple of older brothers who would get far more excited over fairies than any boy should if they were given to my little cousin in their original state.

Putting dresses on the fairies proved to be more difficult than was originally thought.

First we started with gel pens. They seemed like they would be a good choice.

There were lots of colors, and some of them were sparkley with magical glittery fairy dust.

Unfortunately, they didn't work.

Then we tried colored pencils.

They did not quite have the coverage that we desired.

Then we tried markers.

Here's Lori's. She, as well as I, felt that this was too see-through, and thus too racy for my little cousin.

Here's mine.She's all blinged out.

But the marker left the picture gunky, and it could be wiped right off.

Then we got out the paint, and the glitter, and the true Adventure began . . .
